As the mouthpiece offers plenty of room for the tongue, it is recommended for horses with thick, fleshy tongues and can successfully counteract tongue problems.The Pelham enables targeted and effective aids that act on the entire width of the tongue, the neck, and the lower jaw. Depending on how it is buckled, the leverage effect on the neck can be varied as desired. This allows you to respond individually to your horse.
The bit is often used in combination with Pelham straps. If the rider and horse are already highly trained, the use of two pairs of reins is recommended: this allows the leverage to be applied as sensitively as possible. The Pelham is used in conjunction with a chin chain. If this allows an angle of up to 45° between the lower jaw and the mouth, it limits the pressure on the neck in a sensible way.

Great option for a great price

I love these sandals. They are well made, true to size and soft suede. They are lightweight and feel just like my UGG goldenstar sandals. (These are not as adjustable, so if you have narrow or wide feet, these may not be for you) These a great value for the money, especially for medium width feet. The strap across the toe is not adjustable, but fit my feet just fine. The ankle strap was a good length for me. And the Velcro is strong. These sandals are a great value for the money. I will probably start looking into kookaburra before I rush to buy the more expensive ones now.
