    • In de zomermaanden (mei-augustus) kan een bonsai ficus buiten staan op een lichte plek met wat zon en halfschaduw. Hij groeit zeer goed maar heeft vaker water nodig en moet beschermd worden tegen felle middagzon.
    • Bonsai Ficus retusa is een kleine vijgenboom in pot, die vaak als kamerbonsai wordt gehouden. Hij heeft glanzende groene bladeren, een dikke stam en is sterk en redelijk makkelijk te verzorgen, waardoor hij zeer geschikt is voor beginners.
