Cather, and published in several articles during 1897 by the local Ashville newspaper, the Southern Aegis. These articles were collected, and combined into a booklet published by the St. Clair County Library Board as a special project for National Library Week on April 29, 1965 at the annual open meeting.

Compiled, and prepared by Mr. & Mrs H. L. Eubanks and Mr. V. L. Whittle. In 2022, the booklet was retyped, and re-published by Janice F. Price, who was born and bred in St. Clair County, for the Ashville Bicentennial Festival on November 5, 2022.
